How To Enter Panglao, Bohol During The Pandemic 2021 (update)

Updated: May 30, 2022

Ever since the start of the pandemic, local government units (LGU's) have been trying to adjust and adhere to the requirements set by the IATF to ensure the safety of the locals and the tourists.

Last May 2021, I went to Panglao, Bohol. In this article, I share with you my experience together with the requirements that are needed to go to this beautiful island paradise.

Before setting a mixed work-and-leisure trip to Bohol, I first checked if the LGU's were open for travelers without a handful of requirements. Traveling during the pandemic is not easy. There are a lot of government forms and signed documents that need to be submitted before you can visit any destination, so I was quite surprised with what the Panglao Tourism Bubble required before we can fly.

Requirements:

  1. Roundtrip ticket - there are flights from Manila to Bohol multiple times per week, but in terms of airline choice, I suggest Cebu Pacific or Air Asia.

  2. Hotel Booking - before getting extra excited about your trip and finally scanning through a travel website, ensure the hotel you select is a DOT-Accredited Hotel or Resort. Check the full list here.

  3. Negative PCR Test Result - you are required to obtain a negative- PCR test at least 72 hours before departure.

With the possibility of getting infected with Covid-19 at any point, I suggest selecting a re-bookable or refundable flights and hotel. To fill up the Panglao Tourism Bubble form, click here.

Once you have all the requirements in place, attach all documents into the form. Shortly after, you will receive an e-mail confirmation that has your QR code. That email will have all the information you need to register to the MyBohol Tourist App. Once you've completed it, you will be allowed on the island!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

A. Each tourist must have INDIVIDUAL QR Codes. Airlines require presentation of Bohol QR Code.

B. Tourists MUST STAY within the declared itinerary and adhere the policy stated in the Provincial Ordinance No. 2020-024. Tourist are only allowed to stay in Panglao Island and accommodation establishments in Anda.

C. Tours should be booked through ACCREDITED travel and tour operators. List of all accredited tour operators and sites to visit can be found at tourism.bohol.gov.ph

*Please check updated restrictions before applying.
