By November 2021, Zati and her team were finally ready to bring Caza back to life. Hope was on the horizon; the doors were about to reopen.

Then, disaster struck.

In December 2021, just as they were about to relaunch, Super Typhoon Odette (Rai) tore through Siargao. It was a brutal, catastrophic blow that leveled homes and businesses, reducing years of hard work to rubble. Caza was devastated.

The world would have understood if the dream had ended there. The odds were impossible. But Zati’s heart was too tied to the soil of Siargao to give up.

The Unveiling: A Triumph of Love and Labor

What followed was another agonizing two-year standby. A waiting game filled with complex logistical challenges and the sheer will to start again from zero.

In 2023, construction was bravely restarted. It was a massive, painstaking effort to not just rebuild what was lost, but to make it stronger, better, and more beautiful. Finally, the dream was realized and the construction was finished in 2024.
